A night in two screens: the venue’s screen with six teams joined to Friday Pub Quiz beside its QR code, and a team’s phone saying You’re in, The Quizzly Bears.

Write and brand

Picture rounds, music clips and video, all in your pub’s colours.

  • Write on your laptop with Qwizworks Studio, or in any web browser. Your quizzes are in both.

  • Previews show each slide exactly as the room and the teams’ phones will see it, before the night.

  • The theme designer sets your logo, colours and fonts once, and every new quiz starts in them, on every slide.

  • An AI assistant builds and changes slides when you ask in plain words (Regulars and League).

Studio’s theme designer: a question slide in the quiz’s colours beside the colour for each part, from the background to every answer.

Fifteen question types

  • Multiple choice

The classic: pick one of the answers.

  • Free text

Teams type their answer and it arrives already marked, typos forgiven. Mark one ‘Einstien’ right and every team that spelt it the same way is marked too.

  • Numeric

A number, for estimates and tiebreakers.

  • Buzzer

Teams race to press; the order decides who answers.

  • Drawing

Teams draw on the phone, and the drawing reaches you.

  • True or false

    Quick-fire rounds, one tap each.

  • Match pairs

Join each item to its partner.

  • Ranking

Drag the items into order on the phone.

  • Hotspot

Tap the place on the picture.

  • Keypad

    One letter or one digit.

  • Majority rules

Pick what most of the room will pick.

  • Connections

Sort a grid into the groups behind it.

  • Wipeout

Tick every right option; one wrong tick wipes the score.

  • Bluff

Write a fake answer, then vote for the truth.

  • Survey board

Name what the survey said, turned over at the reveal.

Run the night

The quiz runs on your laptop and the pub’s Wi-Fi, so if the broadband drops, the quiz doesn’t.

  • Most answers arrive marked and the scores add themselves, so there’s no paper to collect and nothing to add up.

  • No broadband needed on the night. Studio just needs to go online once every 14 days, and your free monthly night starts online.

  • Coming soon: Qwizworks Remote, to move the quiz on, mark answers with a swipe and play sound effects from your phone while you walk the room.

  • Online, the same quiz runs over the internet: its screen opens in your web browser and teams join with a short code from home.

  • Practise first with up to three teams, always free.

The pub’s TV asking “What is the longest river in the United Kingdom?” with Thames, Severn, Trent and Tay, run from Qwizworks Studio on the laptop beside it.

Play

What the teams feel: their own phone, large answers in a dim room, and games between rounds.

  • Scan and play in the phone’s browser, with nothing to download. Teams who like an app can use Answerpad.

  • No sign-up: a team just picks a name, a colour and a selfie for the big screen.

  • Six minigames between rounds, then the leaderboard and a podium, each on your cue.

A team’s phone asking which river flows through the middle of Cardiff, with its four answers: Taff, Severn, Usk and Wye.

After the night

Every answer, every score and a replay of the night, waiting when the last team leaves.

  • Standings after every scored slide, and how many teams got each question right.

  • Each team’s answers and drawings, with the marking and points.

  • The replay of the screen, played back like a film, with the timings.

  • Kept in your Qwizworks account for 1 to 12 months, depending on your plan.

A night’s report: the final standings, The Quizzly Bears first on 48 points, Agatha Quiztie second on 45 and Les Quizerables third on 41, beside the Bears’ drawn koala.
